Musical Lockets

Alzheimer's is a terrible disease that is erasing the memories of your brain relentlessly slowly, but Jose de la O believes that in reality many of those memories are still there, only that the patient is unable to reach them. The Transcendental Tunes is an invention designed to help treat Alzheimer's patients that aims to help bring out those memories somehow linking people with emotions and musical lockets melodies. It consists of a box that plays music and an array of different shaped medallions, each medallion activates a tune. The idea is that every person who approaches the patient, such as a caregiver, is assigned a medallion with a particular drawing and a different melody. The patient then only have to place the medallion on the box for music for the melody begins to sound, visual and auditory stimuli that makes some specific memories arise. The idea is very nice and may work in practice, although currently only a concept developed by designer Jose de la O. Perhaps a more advanced version could include more visual and even olfactory stimuli or tactile. In any case a good idea.
On Holy Thursday, and before the Silent Procession of the Confraternity of St. John the Evangelist, there was the blessing and imposition of a medallion that will carry the San Juan Evangelista musical lockets group with the uniform.
